BGCCFL 75th Anniversary
We all have a beginning, an origin story. Some place, a long time ago that would provide to be the catalyst of who we become. Sometimes, a large sum of these individual beginnings originate from the same source, and in this case, The Boys and Girls Club of Central Florida.
One of my most recent projects, and one of the most rewarding was the one I did with the BGCCFL for their 75th Anniversary. I worked on this with my amazing team at Vadela Agency for Great Big Circle and we were tasked to capture the individual stories of kids and grownups who were able to call their clubs, home and others who have continuously supported the organization.
We got to follow around the Youth of the Year (an individual who displayed strong leadership within the club) candidate of each club, as they showed us around their club. It was heartwarming to see such vibrancy of characters all in one area that emanated this sense of a family, a really big family.
A couple weeks later, we invited the same Youth of the Year candidates, as well as previous club members to studio, where we gave them the opportunity to tell their story. To tell us their origin story.
I wish I could write all the stories I heard, the wonderful interactions I had, and heartwarming feelings I felt, but that would take too long. Here instead are the portraits I took at the studio.
There is a reason why a lot of individuals origin stories all lead back to one place, and thats because The Boys and Girl Club of Central Florida has always stood to be the bright beginning of something great.

Secondary Succession
This series is about the ability to let go, and how sometimes the strongest and hardest thing to do is accept the reality of things and to decide to move pass it.
Identity Crisis
As a way for me to practice lighting and learn to step out my comfortable shell, here is a set of photos of me. I attempted to "act" and create characters, hopefully one significantly different to the next.
These were quite embarrassing to take...

somewhere stood a couple pink apartments.
she was lost, but she wasn't worried...
it was a strange little world... quiet, the silence only to be broken by the vibrant hues of everything..
so she sat...
but she quickly became bored of the bench....
she needed more color...
so she brought in more color.....
